The name behind Vilt aan Zee is Anne van de Weijer. She makes all her design with hand in her atelier at the Boekhorststraat in The Hague. Her wall-panels are made of 100% wool. Unique products to give your interior a beautiful appearance.
“What i love about being a maker is that I can make products I like, for happy customers. I love to be at my atelier/shop and think about new products, making them alone or with some help, discussing with customers about their ideas, thinking about future plans etc. It’s all in my hands, which feels really good.
Consciousness and sustainability for me is the relationship with my customers, who really think well before they buy my product. They visit me in my atelier where we talk about the options. I don’t have my product on stock so therefore no leftovers. In the making process, I use exactly the amount of wool that I need and always look for the most eco-friendly materials as possible. I use sustainable colored wool for my wall panels from Merino sheep in Europe.
For the wall-panels I love to use sober color combinations. My inspiration comes form painters as Marthe Wery and Rothko for example. And the work of my friend Mark de Weijer is inspiring for me as well.”
